How to assign DJ-Classifieds module to tabs (DJ-Tabs)

In this tutorial, I will show how to configure the Joomla Classifieds extension, assigned to any tab of Joomla tabs extension. We start by creating two DJ-Classifieds modules. 

Then we will make two Tabs and aim them at previously created modules. Finally, we will create a module, which displays it all.
After reading this tutorial, you will know how to add and display any module ich chosen position using DJ-Tabs extension.

DJ-Classifieds, module configuration

First, I’ll show you how simple, configure the modules using DJ-Classifields extension. If you don’t know how to use this extension, I invite you to read the DJ-Classifieds documentation. We'll find out how to display the latest and featured ads. I use JM-Internet minimal Joomla template. Let's get started!

Latest adverts module

To add a module containing the latest ads, go to Modules-> New.

Choose DJClassifieds Items

Set as follows:

  1. Title- type title of the module
  2. Number of items- choose several ads to display
  3. Several columns- specify how many columns will display ads.
  4. Type a unique name for the position, that you don’t use anywhere else for example tab-into-article
  5. Go to the Menu Assignment tab.

Assign module all pages and click Save and Close.

To add a module containing the features ads, go to Modules-> New and choose DJClassifieds Items.

Set as follows:

  1. Title- type module title
  2. Number of items- choose the number of ads to display
  3. Several columns- specify how many columns will display ads.
  4. Only promotion “Special”- Yes, we want to display ads with promotion.
  5. Choose a unique position.
  6. Go to Menu Assignment tab.

Assign the module to all pages and click Save and Close.

DJ-Tabs, configuration

Now you need to configure DJ-Tabs. If you don’t know this extension, I invite you to read the DJ-Tabs documentation and visit DJ-Tabs product page.

How to Create DJ-Tabs Item which will contain DJ-Classifieds Module

Firstly, we’ll create a new group of tabs. Go to Component-> DJ-Tabs->Groups and Click New.


Set fields as follow:

  1. Title - type title of your item group
  2. Alias - type the name of aliased or leave it alone, and it’ll generate automatically.
  3. Status - Published
Click Save and Close

Now we will create a DJ-Tab Item. Go to Component-> DJ-Tabs-> Items and click New.


Set fields as follow:

  1. Name - type name of the tab item.
  2. Group - choose a group of item.
  3. Type - select module position
  4. Position - type Your unique position what you use in DJ-Classifieds Latest Module.
  5. Status - Published
Click Save and New

How to Create DJ-Tabs Module

The last step is to create the module. Go to Extensions-> Modules-> New

Choose DJ-Tabs


  1. Title - type module title
  2. Select group - choose the group where you placed Tab Items
  3. Select theme - choose a theme from the list.
  4. Select Layout - Tabs (you can also use another layout)
  5. Position- choose a position in which in the module should be displayed, in my case top1-1
  6. Go to Menu Assignment Tab

Assign the module to the menu item and click Save and Close.
