Tiered pricing

Tiered pricing

Tiered pricing is a feature that allows you to grant your customers a discount if they purchase a certain number of given products or products in a single order.

There are three types of discount definitions:
  1. fixed value - which means that the product's discounted base has to be calculated by you,
  2. discount by percent (%) - where you enter the percentage of the discount by which the product's base price should be reduced,
  3. discount by value - where you enter the amount of which the price should be reduced.
And there are four types of rules (quantity breaks) that control when on what condition the discount should be granted and how it should be calculated:
  1. individual - the number of products entitling to a discount is taken for a specific product only, which means that other products in the customer's cart will not affect the discount,
  2. across all products - the quantity of all products in the cart will be summed up, and the total will be taken into account,
  3. same producer - the quantities of all products assigned to the specific producer will be summed up, and the total will be taken into account,
  4. same category - the quantities of all products assigned to the specific category will be summed up, and the total will be taken into account.
To define tiered prices within a product, you need to open its form in the back-end and then:
  1. select desired "Tier prices modifier."
  2. select the "Quantity break" rule
  3. within the "Price tiers" section, click on the green + button to create new levels of your discounts or the X button to remove them. Then for every tier, define the quantity, which should trigger the discount and the value.

The example from the screenshot above will grant:
  1. 5% discount on the specific product when customer purchase at least 10 pieces of this product or other products belonging to the same producer.
  2. 10% discount on the specific product when customer purchase at least 20 pieces of this product or other products belonging to the same producer.
With this functionality, you can create advanced and unique promotions and discounts.
