DJ-Tabs Items

Item is content displayed in one tab or accordion.
There are four types of items:
  1. Single Article - This type displays the selected article. You can select an article to display in the 'Basic Options' tab
  2. Article Category - articles from selected category are displayed in accordion layout
  3. Module Position - the content of the selected module position is displayed in the tab
  4. Video - Video from Youtube or Vimeo is displayed in the tab
  5. K2 Single item
  6. K2 Category
  7. Custom Text/HTML
Each item type has its own icon on the items list so you can easily know which item represents what type of content.

Insert Single-Article to a tab or accordion

Create a new Item (tab)

Create a new tab (item) by clicking New in Items view.

In the first tab - New:


  1. Name your tab or accordion item
  2. Select the Group you want the tab to be displayed in.
  3. Select Type as Single Article
  4. Choose the article you want to display
  5. Set Status to Published

In the second tab "Tab options"


Choose an Icon you want to use or select "None" if you do not want to use the icon.

In the "Article Options"


Here you can override the global settings.

Display Article's category in a tab or accordion

Create a new Item (tab)

Create a new tab (item) by clicking New in Items view.

In the first tab - New:


  1. Name your tab or accordion item
  2. Select the Group you want the tab to be displayed in.
  3. Select Type as Article Category
  4. Choose (by typing) the categories you want to be displayed in the tab or accordion
  5. Set Status to Published 

In the second tab "Tab options

Choose any Icon you want to use or select "None" if you do not want to use the icon.

In the "Article Category Options"


  1. Articles Display - select how to display articles, available options:
    1. Accordion - First out (initially),
    2. Accordion - All in (initially),
    3. No Accordion - articles in columns
  2. Tags - choose tags
  3. Articles limit - number of maximum articles to be displayed
  4. Max category levels - Choose maximum category levels counting from the category/categories selected, available options: from 1 to 10
  5. Articles Min and Max dates - Choose whether to display only articles newer or older than the date entered
  6. Articles from last X days - Show only articles from the last X days (based on the current date)
  7. Featured only - yes/no
  8. Articles ordering - displays the articles basing on the order set in this parameter, available options:
    1. Ordering,
    2. Date created,
    3. Title, 
    4. Hits, 
    5. Random.
  9. Articles ordering direction - global/ascending/descending

Insert any Joomla module to a tab or accordion

Create new Item (tab)

Create a new tab (item) by clicking New in Items view.

In the first tab - Edit:


  1. Name your tab or accordion item
  2. Select the Group you want the tab to be displayed in.
  3. Select Type as Module Position
  4. Type module position you want to be displayed in the tab or accordion
  5. Set Status to Published 

In the second tab "Tab options"


 Choose an Icon you want to use or select "None" if you do not want to use the icon.

Insert a Video to a tab or accordion

Create new Item (tab)

Create new tab (item) by clicking New in Items view.

In the first tab - Edit:


  1. Name your tab or accordion item
  2. Select the Group you want the tab to be displayed in.
  3. Select Type as Video Link
  4. Paste link to your video (YouTube or Vimeo)
  5. Set Status to Published 

In the second tab "Tab options"


Insert a Custom Text/HTML to a tab or accordion

Create new Item (tab)

Create new tab (item) by clicking New in Items view.

In the first tab - Edit:


  1. Name your tab or accordion item
  2. Select the Group you want the tab to be displayed in.
  3. Select Type as Custom TEXT/HTML
  4. Insert the content you want to display
  5. Set Status to Published
